TryNano.org -- IEEE

"This portal focuses on nanotechnology, and we hope it will help young people understand the basic issues addressed bythis discipline.  We also strive to offer insight into the nanotechnology industry and describe careers in nanotechnology. On this site, users can explore nanomaterials and learn about different applications of nanotechnology.  There are also spotlights of different companies and universities that apply nanotechnology to products and processes."

  • About Nanotechnology --What is Nanotechnology, Nanomaterials, Nanoscale Properties, History of Nanotechnology, Future of Nanotechnology
  • Nanotechnology Lesson Plans (ages 8-18); 9 activities are posted.
  • Nanotechnology Games -- TryNano.org has compiled links to several games that show nanotechnology in action and are both educational and fun.
  • IEEE Nanotechnology Council Advancing Nanotech for Humanity --"The IEEE Nanotechnology Materials and Devices Conference (IEEE-NMDC) aims to develop critical assessment of existing work and future directions in nanotechnology research from every sector in the nanotechnology research field, with a special focus on materials and devices."
    • Distinguished Lecture Program-- "The NTC's Distinguished Lecturer (DL) program promotes the field of nanotechnology to the broad engineering and scientific community and to the public at large, by providing lecturers who are accomplished and eminent scholars in the areas of nanoscience and nanoengineering. Its parallel goal is to attract young engineers and researchers to the great societal potential and excitement of the field of nanotechnology. Lectures given by the NTC's DLs are meant to be public events given at local IEEE Sections and Chapters, or at public venues like universities, companies, high schools, and science fairs. Geographically the program is world-wide, reflecting the NTC's three areas of activity (Asia/Pacific, Europe/Africa/Middle East, and the Americas)."
  • Find Nanotechnology Degrees --"Many universities around the globe that currently offer nanotechnology degrees — and the list is growing. TryNano.org has compiled a comprehensive global of universities offering associate, certificate, undergraduate, graduate, and PhD programs in Nanotechnology. "
