How to Use Interactive Online Models

Initial Publication Date: December 21, 2006
Since the author of each activity has done the work required to have it up and running, using interactive on-line modeling environments is relatively easy. If your browser or computer does not work with a particular activity, don't fret because there are plenty of activities available. If your computer/browser combination does not work with any interactive on-line modeling activities then you may want to update your system. Check with your local computer expert for your best strategy.

Currently the big issue with using interactive on-line modeling environments is creating meaningful activities for your students, activities that will engage them and help them learn. Pedagogical ideas related to Interactive Engagement and Systems Thinking are both relevant to designing good modeling activities for students. Some of the interactive online modeling examples presented here come with sample activities.
