Sabrina Ewald is the Program Manager for Education Outreach and Training for the Center for Subsurface Energy and the Environment, part of the Hildebrand Department of Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. With 23 years in the classroom, she brings a wealth of experience and knowledge working as a secondary science educator and curriculum developer. Her focus is creating an engaging and dynamic environment for students while exposing students to real-world connections and career opportunities. She actively participates in state and national education conferences where she facilitates workshops that focus on student-centered learning and hands-on resources. 

Prior to joining The University of Texas at Austin, Sabrina was a middle school and high school science teacher in Texas and most recently spent the past 18 years teaching high school science. The courses she taught included AP Environmental Science, ESS, Environmental Systems, Astronomy, and Aquatic Science. She was the district curriculum developer for ESS, Environmental Systems, and Astronomy. For the past 7 years, Sabrina has served as a Reader for the AP Environmental Science exam and for 8 years was an instructor for the Duke Talent Identification Program (TIP) Summer Studies program. She is an active presenter at the Conference for the Advancement of Science Teaching, held annually in Texas for K-12 educators. She has also worked as a consultant developing classroom lessons for private companies and educational institutions. In 2021, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists Foundation selected her as the National K-12 Teacher of the Year and the Science Teacher Association of Texas named her the Outstanding High School Science Teacher of the Year. Sabrina is a previous NAGT OEST winner for the Texas Section in 2016 and 2018.

Currently, Sabrina is the interim president for the South Central Section and is a member of the NAGT K-12 Ad Hoc Committee.
