Dakota College at Bottineau

Michelle has been active in encouraging geology education throughout her life.

Currently she is employed at Dakota College at Bottineau in North Dakota, teaching a variety of Geoscience focused classes: 

  • Environmental Science
  • Intro to Natural Resources 
  • Introduction to Soil Science
  • Introduction to Geoscience
  • Physical Geology
  • Unmanned Aircraft Systems 
  • UAS Applications in Agriculture
  • UAS FAA 107 Licensure Laws
She is also the director of the outreach programs Bottineau Community Rocks for local families to get involved in geoscience adventures and presentations and Bottineau Rockhounds, a local after-school club for students in grades 3-9 who have interest in the geosphere. 

Before moving to North Dakota in 2023, Michelle spent 20 years teaching elementary and middle school Earth Science and STEM programs through the public school system.
